Next Gen Part Dieux

Last month we featured the “Next Gen” in the Central African Republic. This month, we continue the theme in the US.
Meet Hannah Caldwell. After serving on a TS team to Haiti in the Spring of 2017, she wanted to do more to help TS and the Haitian people. Here’s what she had to say earlier this year:

Hello Friends & Family,

Last spring break, I went on a medical mission trip to Cap-Haïtien, Haiti with the non-profit organization, Three Strands.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to go into the medical field. Both of my parents, being physicians, have shown me what it truly means to heal and give. When they went to the Central African Republic with Three Strands in 2012, I knew that a trip of that magnitude was something I wanted to participate in as well. During this trip, the people of Haiti truly inspired me to pursue medicine and philanthropy.  I want to give back to the people of Haiti who touched my heart, and hopefully be able to heal some of their pain along the way.

Three Strands is a non-profit organization that works to provide accessible and affordable health care to those who need it. Their drive and passion to care for others comes from the organization being faith-based. Each patient is treated with the appropriate medical care, as well as being treated spiritually through prayer. Haiti has been said to be one of the poorest countries in the world. The World Health Organization has shown that the average Haitian lives off of approximately $2.00 per day. Therefore, Three Strands decided to establish a medical clinic, where those who need medical care, can receive it despite how much money they have.

I have set up a Go Fund Me account, and attached a promotional video that I created to raise awareness of the organization.  These are the outlets I am using to inform and, perhaps, inspire others to give their time or money to the people of Haiti.  The money donated to this fund will be used to purchase the needed medication to restock the Three Strands Cap-Haïtien clinic. The clinic functions year-round and sees many patients who need medication to combat things such as, hypertension, UTIs, STDs, gastroesophageal reflux disease, ear infections, and diabetes. The pharmacy at the clinic, though it is small, has medications that many men, women, and children of Cap-Haïtien desperately need.

Please share the video to increase awareness of Three Strands and their mission.  Also, any monetary donations are appreciated, no matter how small.  If you would like to get involved directly, you may also visit www.three-strands.org.

Thank you!!

To date, Hannah has raised $2300 with her senior capstone project.
Thank you Hannah and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for you!
