Traveling to he Central African Republic is ALWAYS an adventure.

Today (6/4) the adventure begins for a team leaving the US, scheduled to arrive in Bangui tomorrow afternoon US time.

The team is made up of Three Strands’ co-founders Mike (physician’s assistant) & Myra Taylor (nurse).  Allison, a friend of the Taylors who is an engineer. She will be helping with inventory, children’s ministries, video/photo. Matt  is also a good friend, volunteer and financial officer for Three Strands. He’ll be helping oversee our books – like a mini audit. Lauren (Matt’s daughter) wants to be a nurse. She is going to learn and help in the team medical ministry.

We are hoping very much to celebrate with our team two major events in Bangui for the Three Strands’ Family.

  • The 100th year celebration of our partner mission, Encompass (formerly Grace Brethren International Missions).
  • The ground breaking ceremony of our Surgical Center!

Mike always tells our teams it is a miracle when we and all of our stuff arrive safely in Bangui.  It amazes all of us each and every time it happens.  Please pray for our team and for these 12 bags to make it safe and sound. Inside are medicines, medical supplies, solar pump, microscope, laptop, clothes, food, books, etc…

Also, continue to pray for peace in the Central African Republic and God’s continued protection of our facility in Bangui.
